    A Divx player is a kind of software that is used to play media related files. It is a type of standalone media player that can play videos that have been encoded using Divx. The latest version of the Divx player is the version "1.0.1" which was released on the 25th of May 2006. It was operable on both Windows based and Mac OS X based operating systems. The Divx media player comes with a lot of additional features besides Dixx playback including burning Divx Discs, Controlling the video through gestures of the mouse, Media manager, ability to play files supported by QuickTime, Manage other devices in windows that are certified by Divx and the ability to play videos as background on ones desktop.
