Why Does My Wife Fall Asleep After She Eats?

My wife has been sick for 6 years. For the past 3 months she has been falling asleep ( sometimes during) when she eats. She has a gluten intolerance so she eats pretty healthy. When she falls asleep it is like she is in a coma. Why does this happen?

Getting sleepy after eating is normal and it is not likely to have anything to do with her gluten intolerance. Whenever you eat foods rich in carbohydrates or even pasta and bakery products your body produces more seratonin which makes you more relaxed.

No need to worry. It is normal because some peoples have habits of sleeping after taking meals. In our body, after taking meals, the blood circulation towards stomach is increased. This can lead to sleepy conditions in few peoples.
