    Genetics, also geneology is basically the study of where you came from and what is inherited.  They are also  doing a lot of research on genetics, as for instance, maybe a close relative had cancer, genetically, if close in blood relations, you may be predisposed to inheriting same.  As well, genetiically, you may be more prone no diabetes if mother or father had it.  There is also genetic connections, in some cultures.  For instance, a culture that has not been exposed to refined sugars for centuries, such as north american aboriginals, or asians, may be more prone to diabetes and addiction to fermeted drinks. To genetically alter, means introducing a forein gene, cell, etc. To alter the development of such person or animal.
