Why Could Our Dog Be Licking The Air Around Our Jade Plant?

We recently transferred our jade plant in the dining room into a larger pot. Its lower to the ground but in the same location as before. Our Portuguese water dog has been licking the air around the plant since the transfer. She will lick the air until we push her away. She does this about 4 times a day. It can last a while.

There is some behavioral problem with your dog. Or there is something edible that i s attracting your dog through its smell. I do not think it can hurt your dog any way but if you want to get rid of its habit then surround the base of the tree with pinecones, which you have scented with menthol or eucalyptus. Dogs do not like pinecones underfoot, so it also helpful. Get a squirt bottle and spray on it when it goes near it. It will create irritating alarms when the dog goes into that area.
