A war in which the whole world participates is called a world war. Naturally its repercussions will be felt globally. The whole world will face the consequences of such a war. There have been two terrible world wars till date. The reason why the entire world in what seems to be largely European conflicts is because of the imperialism that was prevalent at the time. Each European country had a number of colonies who were dragged into the war on the side of the mother country. This is why the war took place on a global scale. World Wars are responsible for large scale destruction are claim many lives during their course including many civilians.
The First World War took place between 1914 and 1918. The Conflict took place between the Allied Powers and the Central Powers. The Allied Powers were France, Britain, Russia and Italy while the Central Powers were Germany, Austria-Hungary, Turkey. Later the USA joined the war on the side of the allies.
World War II started in 1929 and ended in 1945. This time the war saw Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Italy on one side and Britain, France, Russia and a number of other countries on the other. Sixty million people died during the course of the Second World War. Its famous leaders included Adolf Hitler of Germany, Mussolini of Italy, Winston Churchill of England among others.
