The Microsoft Office Specialist (Office Specialist) certification   is an internationally recognised standard for demonstrating desktop skills. It is a rival to the International Computer Driving Licence, also known as the European Computer Driving Licence, but not as broad in its scope.

When successfully completed the Microsoft Office Specialist exam proves that you have competency in
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Outlook
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Microsoft Access
    • and Microsoft Project

Visit Microsoft.com for a comprehensive overview of the exam.

According to Microsoft, the Office Specialist program is available in more than 100 countries and in 19 different languages. To date, more than 2 million Office Specialist certificates have been issued, and approximately 38,000 Office Specialist certificates are awarded each month.

A study guide for MS Office 2003, for example, costs around £20 ($23) and includes a free mock exam to sit.
