It would be best to have this kitten examined by a veterinarian. The underlying cause for this constipation needs to be determined. Also your veterinarian will make sure he is not straining to urinate--the inability to urinate can be a serious, life threatening problem. Also sometimes people mistake diarrhea for constipation--diarrhea causes increased urge to defecate so kittens will posture to defecate but produce nothing because the colon is empty. Diarrhea is more common in kittens. Identifying the problem will lead to appropriate treatment.
