    You need to move the variables to one side.

    Original problem:
    4*2 + 11x = 2*2 - 15

    Step 1:
    8 + 11x = 4 - 15

    Step 2:
    8 + 11x= -9
    -8           -8

    Step 3:
    11x = -17

    Step 4:
    11x/11 = 17/11

    Step 5/Answer:
    X = 17/11
