Histon is a village and a parish in England. It has its own railway station. The station is located at a distance of about 1 mile to the northeast on the Cambridge, St. Ives and Huntingdon line of the Great Eastern Highway. It is located at a distance of about 62ΒΌ miles from London by rail and three miles northwest of Cambridge. Histon is situated in the western division of the county, hundred and union of Chesterton. It is also in close proximity to the petty sectional division and county court district of Cambridge, the rural deanery of North Stowe and the archdeaconry and diocese of Ely.
Histon is primarily an agricultural village and parish with a total area of about 2, 162 acres of farmland. It supplies the markets in Cambridge, London and other places with fresh produce of crops such as grains, vegetables and fruits. In 1891, the census revealed that the population of Histon comprised only 948 people.
