Can You Feed 4 Week Old Puppies Dog Food?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Ideally puppies are weaned at 6-8 weeks of age.  The weaning process begins around 4 weeks when soft puppy food gruel is added to the diet in addition to mother's milk.  In situations where puppies are hand reared or in shelter they can be weaned as early as 4 weeks.  This puppy should be fed a soft canned puppy food or canned puppy food gruel.
Talk to your veterinarian if you have further concerns about this puppy and how to care for it.
