How Do I Make Connection From Panel To A Junction Box?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Hopefully you know somewhat what youre doing here. Not knowing if you need a 220 or 110 from the panel to the junction box so ill give you both. For 110 volt;  the black wire from either your fuse or circuit breaker is your hot/power line and the white is your neutral wire, attached to the neutral bar in your panel, the green or bare copper wire is usually attached to the same neutral bar in the panel as the white wire. Then in your junction box, with power off, you hook to whatever circuits you want to run. Now for 220 volts, which is actually 2-110 volt circuits, it will be the same as above except now you should have a red wire from a huge circuit breaker or another fuse running out to your junction box to power another circuit. Nothing runs on a true 220 volts, just that whatever appliance you run that needs 220 to it needs 2 110 volt circuits to it to make it operate properly. Remember in your junction box that white wires go together and green/bare copper wires go together and then black to black or black to red depending on what youre wiring for. Hope this helps
