What Are Types Of Solar Electric Power Systems?

There are basically three types of solar electric power systems.
Utility tie
In this system there are no battery cells or any such equipment used or required. The only function it does is that it provides solar power through the solar panels. The basic purpose is to provide power for use and stop or even reverse the utility meter normally used for general use of electricity. The major reason its I preferred for house and office use is that it requires no batteries and it is cheap also as compared to other options.

Utility interactive
In this type of system two purposes are served basically one is that it can be connected to utility meter and the meter can be stopped or reversed and secondly is that this can help in power failures in case of grid meter.

The main difference here is that this type has batteries and additional controls.
Normally this type is also called off the grid because it is mostly used by homes that don't use utility meters and power supply.

Stand alone
Basically fully independent system where there is no use of utility power or meter. Where there is no utility power this system is preferred over there just as power generator.
