My Dog Is About Two Years But Does Not Bark. Can Anyone Tell Me What Is Wrong With Her?

There are several possibilities why a two-year dog may not bark. First of all, what breed is your dog? If she is a Basenji, then you should know that Basenjis do not bark. They may make other sounds like howl, yodel, etc., but they do not bark. The second thing is, does she make any noise at all? If he does not, it would be a good idea to take her to a vet and get a check-up done. If she does not bark at all, there is a possibility she may be deaf, and therefore, mute as well. That could be a very distinct possibility. Barking is something that comes naturally to most breeds of dog, except the Basenji as mentioned earlier. And if she is not doing what should come naturally to her, then there could be something wrong. It could possibly be some kind of impairment in her aural system, which causes her not to respond vocally as she cannot hear anything.

There is also the possibility that she is just reticent. There have been instances of dogs indulging in minimal amounts of noise-making; no one has been able to figure out why, and have therefore called it a 'personality trait.' It could be the case with your dog as well. The best way to know what is the problem, if at all there is any, is to take her to a vet and find out.
