Trick is to keep each game relatively short (2-5 minutes max), and only do a maximum of four games. Their attention spans won't last much longer!! You might want to do 2 party games together, long break for food, activities and free play or dance, followed by 2 party games again at the end (just before the party bags get handed out).
Pass the parcel. Make sure there's a chocolate in each layer, and that each child gets a chocolate. Watch out for a child who can't cope with having to wait, easiest to just make sure the least patient get their chock on the next round!
A simple treasure hunt, with chocolate buttons for rewards.
Musical chairs or bumps (but don't actually have anyone stand out). They wouldn't understand and it's not necessary for them to have fun.
Not really games, but activities they usually enjoy:
* Sticking images on paper, a good one if you get the right pictures (vehicles for boys, animals and Barbies for girls).
* Decorating biscuits
* Playdough
* Water play (if you can work outside)
* Chasing blown bubbles
* Songs -- just sit them down and sing together, especially songs with obvious actions. Suggestions: "Three little monkeys jumping on a bed", Old MacDonald, "I'm a little teapot", Wind the bobbin up, "Four in a Bed", Twinkle little star, "Baa Baa black sheep". Give out lyric sheets for accompanying parents!
