Obispo is the shortened form of San Luis Obispo. It is also known as SLO or "San Luis". It is a city in California. It is situated between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It is also the county seat of San Luis Obispo County. This city has a tree lined downtown shopping area which consists of numerous restaurants and locally owned shops as well as a growing number of chain stores. It is a great commercial, governmental and cultural hub in California.
This name is the Spanish version of St Louis, The Bishop. It had a population of 44,174 residents in the year 2000. This city is based just adjacent to the California Polytechnic state University also known as Cal Poly. It is also has the credit of being one of the oldest communities in California. Due to its location between Los Angeles and San Francisco, Obispo is a stopping point for travelers. It is also a tourist destination in itself.
