How Can I Help My Children Keep Away From Crime?

There are a number of reasons why children get involved in a life of crime. It may be due to peer pressure or gang related crimes. Reasons related to poverty such as frustration or despondence. You may have to consider the type of friends your children keep and discourage those that may have a negative influence on them.

Then there is activity. Involving your children in sports or other meaningful pursuits will keep them off the streets and keep them involved in something positive. Be open with your children and discuss matters that concern you freely. Problems at homes such as domestic violence or broken homes can also encourage them to get involved with substance abuse etc. Trust your children but let them understand that they have to earn that trust by behaving responsibly.
