I Gave The Landlord 1st Month And A Security But The House Was Not Ready By The 1st, What To Do?

We finally did get the keys to the house on the 2nd of the month but when we went inside his furniture and trash was all over I have spent the past 2 evenings cleaning and throwing out trash for about a total of 6 hours. The landlord furniture is still in the basement, attic, porch and carport what can I do about this? I have asked the landlord about removing the items and he just tells me they will be out that night, come the next morning its still there.
