You should have a theme or motiff for your Christmas tree. Think of things you would like to put in it. Like Christmas cards, Christmas balls, trimmings, or maybe different kinds of angels. You can put things having the same color so that you'll have a color motiff too. Good luck and enjoy decorating your Christmas tree. Just remember that Christ is the reason why we have Christmas. It is to commemorate His birthday. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!!

A Christmas tree is the traditional symbol of the biggest holiday of the year, world-round. Each year, trees are set up in homes and decorated by families as part of the seasonal celebrations. Your first Christmas tree should reflect who you are at the time in your life when it is purchased. Depending on your tastes, you may want to use lavish decorations complete with all the trimmings, or leave the tree in as natural a state as possible, au natural, with edible and organic decorations. You may have a collection of heirloom decorations or ones that were homemade by you as a child. There does not have to be a specific theme to your Christmas tree, save that it reflects you. If you do not have the time, energy or money to collect, make or purchase decorations for your first Christmas tree, enlist the help of your friends. Ask each one to make something you can use and from there, you will have started off your first Christmas with the meaning that the holiday is meant to reflect.

A Christmas tree should reflect who you are, and what Christmas means to you. If Christmas is a purely secular celebration for you, then let it be filled with memories and symbols of what you value most about Christmas. My family and I are followers of Jesus Christ, so for us, the Christmas tree is decorated with motiffs that remind of us His birth, and what the 'meaning' of Christmas is... As well as momentos from our lives and the lives of of other loved ones. The tree though is just a decoration. The more important aspect of Christmas lies in who we holour and glorify with our words, thoughts, and deeds.

A colour theme is also very common and useful :) Try gold, or gold and red or just multi coloured. A theme makes everything look more neater or professional because if you pick gold and spot something gold out shopping that would fit the tree you can buy it and it'll fit in fine.

Let me tell you my experience. First time I did, I try to make like it shows in the commercials. But then I realize that I should decorate myself with my own ideas even I did not know. So I started decorating, you know lights there and here, the colorful reflective balls there and here, the decorations there and here, etc... And of course the star at the top. But the first time I did it I put a decorated baby Jesus birth next to the tree. Even the first time it did not look like everyone's or the ones in the commercials, I do remember this. That it was fun for the first time and I was proud of it of the good job I did. And from there on year by year you get better at it. I hope this experience will help you in decorating your first tree.

I love Christmas, well you should buy some red, silver gold, white blue garland to put on your tree, buy some Christmas balls to put on your tree so it can sparkle and glitter, get some flavored candy canes, lots and lots of colorful lights and a big star, I love Christmas, it is my favorite holiday, I am really obsessed over Christmas.
