What Could Cause Three Outlets( Each) In 2 Bedroom To Have No Power?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Has there been any recent electrical work performed on your home?  If not, then the obvious reason for a loss of power in your two bedrooms would be a tripped circuit breaker of faulty fuse.  Check your circuit breaker/fuse panel for any failures.

If the problem is not in your circuit breaker panel, then check for a Ground Fault outlet (GFI) near the two bedrooms.  GFI outlets are required in wet areas such as; bathrooms, kitchen, basement, garage, and all outdoor outlets.  If the GFI was installed after the house was built, it might be the first outlet in the power circuit from your CB panel.  Therefore, once the GFI outlet is tripped it will kill power to all of the remaining outlets further down the same circuit path.

Note:  If the reset button on any GFI outlet will not reset, then there still remains a shorted device on the circuit or the GFI outlet itself is faulty and should be replaced.  Hope this helps.
