In February of 2001 I was watching the Daytona 500 in the living room with my daddy and on turn  4 of the final lap, I watched the great Intimidator crash into the wall. It will always stick to me. A lot of people didn't like him, but just as many that didn't care for how he raced, loved him.

Most memorable occasions I had of races where when I was about 8 and my dad would take me to the Nashville Speedway. I honestly don't know if they were any specific races, but one day about 7 cars wrecked at the same time and a couple caught fire.  I'll never forget that.. Smoke filled the entire area and a few firetrucks and ambulances raced down the track to the wrecks while a whole lot of people simultaneously rushed from the pit to help.. Of course everybody remembers the wrecks.

It was in the 60's and I don't remember the date, but I was at Daytona watching my hero, and he rode my "K" Model in the pit area! That was the last time I saw him alive! And his name was Glenn "FIREBALL" Roberts, and I think he was in the top 10 that time!

OH YA! In those days NASCAR was totally different world than it is today! The cars were the same cars you could buy off a car lot, and had bench seats! The driver's IF they liked you would party with you in the days before the real race, and come to your camp out area in the in field at night, and drink a few Beers with you! Plus the money made in some races TODAY is more that you could make in a WHOLE year! FOR THEY LOVED what they were doing! I was there and words alone can not tell you about those days! Glenn "FIREBALL" Roberts was a good friend of mine! And I will always morn his lose! logic101

I was watching the Talladega cup race in 2009 when Brad spun Carl Edwards out for the win on the frontstretch, probably the wildest finish I have ever seen!
