What Does Indigo Mean?

    The word indigo is most commonly associated with a blue violet colour. It may also denote a bluish coloured dye which is procured from plants or alternatively artificially produced.

    Indigo that is the indigo that is found in a spectrum is found in between 440 and 420 nanometres in wavelength. It lies just in between the colours blue and violet. Indigo is one of the rainbow colours along with red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet.

    Chromaticians or scientists who specifically study colours say that both violet and indigo are distinct from purple. There are four shades of indigo Electric Indigo, Deep indigo, Pigment indigo and indigo dye.

    In the world of comic books Indigo is a character in New Universe a series that ended soon after it started. It was a publication of the famous Marvel Comics.
