The cruise ship Freedom of the Seas (Royal Caribbean International) is the largest ship by way of weight at 158,000 gross ton; however in terms of height (236 ft), width (135 ft) and length (1,132 ft) the ocean liner Queen Mary 2 (Cunard Line) is ahead.
The Freedom of the Seas made her first voyage in June 2006 and with her main stops being in the Caribbean, the Queen Mary 2 made her first transatlantic voyage in January 2004 from Southampton, England to Florida, USA. The Freedom of the Seas' special features are a water park, complete sports facilities with rock climbing and a skating rink as well as a restaurant including a coffee shop; the Queen Mary 2 has on board a planetarium, a ballroom, a casino, swimming pools and various restaurants suited for all tastes, it was the flag ship at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
