    To knit up is a verb which means to create a fabric or make a garment by knitting. Knitting is the process which uses needles to create garments, especially those which are made of wool. Knitting up something is to make a woollen garment using a series of basic knitting stitches.

    To knit up something is to tie or link it together. A knit up creation is a garment created by using needles and interlacing threads of yarn in a series of connected loops using a set of straight needles which have no eyes or by using a knitting machine.

    To knit up is also a synonym for the phrase to pucker up. In other words, to knit up or to pucker up means to gather something into small folds or wrinkles. People pucker their lips up when they want to kiss someone. In other words, to knit up also means to pucker one's lips up, as if the person intends to kiss another person.
