    Older kids might be good for a visit to the Quayside market on Sunday mornings to people watch and buy cheap trinkets.

    Whiteley Bay and Tynemouth have decent beaches and are not too far away on public transport (Metro).

    Centre for Life.

    Tanfield Railway.

    Segedunum Roman Fort, Baths & Museum

    Laing Art Gallery

    The castle

    Seven stories book collection.

    Giants Den (soft indoor play).

    Paddy Freeman's park, NE of the city centre.

    Sea life centre at Tynemouth.

      Wet 'n' wild
      Hadrians wall
      Sea life aquarium
      Alnwick castle
      Tanfield railway
      The Beach
      ODEON
      The metro centre
      Marc-tonis
      Quaside market
      The woodmans
      Crazy kingdom
      Digger land
      The life centre
      St.james park
      Heighley gate garden centre
      These are things kids actually WANT to do
