How Does An Induction Hob Work?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Induction hobs are also known as induction cookers. They are different from traditional electric stoves. An induction hob has a glass top on which the hob generates magnetic waves; these waves are only generated if a pan with magnetic metal in the bottom is placed on the glass top. The magnetic waves that are generated on the surface of the glass top stimulate the molecules in the magnetic base of the pan. This results in instant generation of heat. This heat can be controlled by cutting off the electric supply from the glass plate; this will stop it from generating the magnetic waves. If you put a glass pan or any others, you will see that the induction hob will not generate any heat and the pan will not be heated.
