Will Joseph Be There For Me?

Good grief, and how old is Joseph? You have started out on a very difficult journey at a very young age, BUT...no-one can possibly say anything about Joseph - he may or may not turn out to be solid as a rock. YOU might let HIM down, who knows? You can't predict the future. I'm sure he will do his best for you and the baby, but only time will tell if his best is good enough for you. Men can breeze out of the door whatever age they are, and they frequently do, so one thing you must try to do for yourself and your baby is this: Carry on loving Joseph and trusting him, BUT make sure you don't become completely dependent on him, because if he ever does leave you want to be able to look after yourself and not be utterly bereft. Many of us older women used to have what we called (excuse the bad language) 'F**k off money' ie a secret fund of money just in case the worst happens and you need to leave the situation quickly. If you can't afford to save anything, then have a little symbolic fund, ie a small box with a few coins in or an item you would find essential, like a coffee cup or a toothbrush, just something to remind you occasionally that you are your own person. You are so young you have barely had time to find out what life has to offer, and you are now committed to sacrificing the rest of your life to caring for your child 24/7. Just make sure that you keep your friends and family, if you have any, around you to support you as much as possible, then if Joseph doesn't come up to expectations, you will not be left all alone in the world.
