HELP NEEDED: ANSWER SOON: What Is The Name Of The MOST Common Keyboard Arrangements Of Keys?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Standard keyboard is called a "QWERTY: Keyboard. It gets it's name from the keys in the top row of letters, they are arranged as Q-W-E-R-T-Y, hence the name. It's been around for many many years! It was originally found in typewriters. The "guys" discovered that by using this layout, the typist was able to work faster. IE. The most common letters (keys) are located on the "Home" row. So they are easier to hit as that is where your fingers would rest. There is a keyboard designed by John Dvorak, it's a different layout and I personally do not like it, but I do know people that use it, and they like it. It is supposed to be faster, but I didn't find that personally. Also, there was an ABC layout as well, but it's been gone for a long time. (I think).
I have no doubt that QWERTY Keyboard is the most common!
    Hope this helps.       Take Care
