The book "Here Today" is written by the ever famous novelist Ann M. Martin. Baby-sitters Club series, A Corner of The Universe are some of the finest creations of her.

This book is a touching story of Doris Day Dingman's family. The main character of this book is Ellie. Doris is the mother of Ellie. In 1963, Ellie's mother had won the Bosetti Beauty at Mr. Bosetti's supermarket. She was soon heading towards success in her life, everything was going smooth until the time when the President John F. Kennedt was killed, the Doris family started to fall apart. At that time Ellie was 11 years old and was studying the 6th grade, she was also the oldest child in the family. Her father was working as a construction worker, whereas her mother left them to become an actor and to become wealthy. This causes the little girl to handle the precarious situation of her family and take on the pilot's position in her family.
