    Montcalm is a well known surname as well as the name of quiet a few places like the Montcalm County. The County is located in the US state of Michigan. According to the census conducted in the year 2000 the total population of this region was estimated at 61,226.

    The county is named after Louis-Joseph de Montcalm, who was a French military commander during the French and the Indian War. The census report of the year 2000 even stated that the total area of this County was 1,867 square kilometres, out of which 1,834 square kilometre is land and 34 square kilometres is water. The population density of this region was estimated at 33 per square kilometre. The county seat of this region is Stanton.
