Where Is This LAMP Technology Used And Is This Technology Usefull In Western Countries?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

LAMP in the sense of LAMP technology stands for Linux (operating system), Apache (web server), AySQL (database management system) and PHP (programming language). The creators of these individual programs did not envisage them being used in a complimentary manner with each other. They were however successful at this because the programs work well together and also because their components are ubiquitous. The benefit of LAMP technology is that it allows users of web browsers to execute programs that are present on the web server.

There is no reason why the technology should not be considered beneficial to Western Countries. The term LAMP was in fact coined in a computer magazine from Germany in 1998. The term was coined by Michael Kunze. Since the technology is both cheap and is applicable for all-round applications it is extremely helpful to designers and programmers.
