Acid test is an accounting ratio used to measure the liquidity position of a firm, that is how much resources it has to pay off its short term/current liabilities without any trouble. The second  name of ratio is quick ratio.

    the formula is as under:

acid test / quick ratio: = (total current assets less inventories)/current liabilities.

a quick ratio of 1 is desirable, a less number indicates problem for the firm.
