Eskimos also known as Esquimaux, are word that are applicable to people who live in the circumpolar region. But it is not a term used for people who live in regions like Scandinavia and most of Russia, but including the easternmost portions of Siberia.

There are mainly two groups of Eskimos. One is the Inuit that are found in regions like northern Alaska, Canada and Greenland. And eh second type is the Yupik that live in western Alaska and the Russian Far East.

The Eskimos speak two different dialects. The Eskimos that live in the eastern part speak Inuktitut and the western Alaskan Eskimo communities (Yup'ik) speak Yup'ik. Another language also spoken among some are The Sireniki language.
