How Does Foot Reflexology Work?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The term reflexology actually means 'reflection', rather than reflex. The idea is that in reflexology, certain zones found on the sole of the foot will act as small mirrors, reflecting through the entire body. These relationships have been recorded on charts. For example, if someone has a problem with a certain organ, reflexologies can press the corresponding point on his or her foot and cause the person to experience pain. This pain is believed to correspond with deposits of crystals in the reflex zones of the feet. Pressure applied to the reflex zones (print a free reflexology zone chart) by the reflexologies is thought to pass through the nerves to dissipate energy blockages. With proper massaging techniques, these crystalline deposits can be broken down and the pain can be alleviated. It is therefore believed that foot reflexology can help cure certain afflictions of the organs.
