Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

The biggest land animal in the world is the African elephant. An African elephant can weigh more than 14,000 pounds as an adult. These elephants can also eat more than 600 pounds of food everyday.

These African elephants can be found in the tropical parts of Africa. These elephants have very large bodies and heads. Their trunk are very long and almost reach the ground. They use their trunks for sucking up water to put into their mouths to drink or to spray over their bodies to help cool them off or to shoo flies away. The African elephant is basically hairless, and its skin is very thick and heavy.

So, the African elephant is the largest known, living land animal in the world. (This is present...of course the dinosaurs were a lot larger millions of years ago.)
