    Adam Arkin is an American film director and actor. He was born on August 19, 1956 in New York City, New York in the United States. He is best known for his work on producing and directing television series.

    Adam Arkin is the son of Alan Arkin who is also a well-known actor and director.

    Adam Arkin has appeared in and directed several episodes of the popular television series known as Northern Exposure which aired throughout the 1990s. He has also appeared in and directed several episodes of Chicago Hope which aired on television during the early part of the twenty-first century.  In Chicago Hope, he played the part of Aaron Shutt, a neurologist.

    In addition to his work in television, Adam Arkin also appeared in 'A Slight Case of Murder' in 1990 and in the movie 'Hanging up' which was produced and released in 2000.

    He has been and continues to be a successful actor.
