How Do You Refinish New Wood Cabinets With Paint?

I have replaced cabinet rails stiles and doors. I want to spray final finish using high gloss oil base enamel. Can this paint be thinned for use in conventional auto type spray gun or do I need another type like help by Wagner or what is best for spraying this type paint for fine finish for cabinets? Thanks, H.Upton

If you have a compressed air spray gun, you should be fine.  Sanding is paramount.  You need to get the surface as smooth as possible, if you think it's smooth enough, sand one more time.  Priming would be advisable, especially if the quality of the wood is uneven, or has large pores.  I would experiment first on some scrap lumber (outside-with a respirator). I have never had luck with Wagner; it works fine out of the box, but then starts to clog and drip.  Compressed air sprayer is best.
