    The book Redemption was written by Richard Burke, a writer of psychological thrillers, and an award-winning producer and director of science documentaries. His first novel, Frozen, was published by Orion in 2003. His second novel, Redemption, was published in 2006, also by Orion. In Frozen, the plot involves the mysterious death of a young woman and subsequent attempts by her childhood love and friends to find out more about the circumstances surrounding her death. Redemption revolves around the kidnap of a pregnant woman with subsequent threats to her husband against the life of the wife and unborn child.

    Burke began his career as a bond trader and later left the world of finance to join television as an assistant producer on BBC's Tomorrow's World. His is also credited with producing the series 'Space' for the BBC, Discovery America's 'Raging Planet' series and Channel 4's 'Electric Skies'. He lives in Somerset with his wife and son. Burke was born in London and studied English at Oxford University.
