    It is a card that plugs into the motherboard in your computer that allows you to access a network.  There is a socket on the back to acept an ethernet cable. Usually it requires a driver, although many drivers are included in XP and Vista.

    Correct, an Ethernet card is one kind of network adapter. These adapters make it so that you can connect via a high-speed network connections to the internet. Ethernet cards are sometimes known as network interface cards.

      It's a card that goes into the back of your computer and allows you to access the Internet via DSL. You can buy them at most stores that sell computers.
