Can I Receive Unemployment Insurance And Social Security Benefits?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Yes.  However, the amount you would receive in disability payments will be offset by the amount you receive in disability payments. In other words, you would only receive the difference between what disability pays and what unemployment pays, if any. If what you receive in unemployment is higher than what you would receive in disability payments, then you would not be eligible to receive disability at this time.  However, if your application for disability payments is approved, and then your unemployment benefits cease, then you would become eligible for disability payments at that time.
