A Half Windsor knot is designed to be less formal than the full Windsor knot and so it can be used with all dress shirts.
Basically as always start standing in front of a mirror. Ensure that the wide end of the tie is at least 12 inches below the narrow end and then cross it over the narrow end too. Bring the wide end around and behind the narrow end and then bring it up through the loop which has been created near the collar. Next take the wide end and then place it across the front from the right to the left, over the narrow end. Once again take the wide end up through the loop and then bring it down through the knot at the front of the tie. Use both of your hands to tighten it up and there you have a Half Windsor knot. It will definitely take a little practising to get it right but persevere and you will get there!
