    The film version of The Firm a novel written by John Grisham and published in 1991 was made two years later in 1993. The film version was very successful making over 100 million dollars in just over 23 weeks in the United States alone. It also had some of the most popular names of Hollywood acting in it.

    The Protagonist of the film Mitch McDeere was played by actor Tom Cruise; his mentor at the firm, Avery Tolar, was played by veteran actor Gene Hackman; the character of Mitch's wife, Abigail McDeere was played by Jeanne Tripplehorn; Hal Holbrook played the part of Oliver Lambert the senior partner in the firm; Veteran actor Ed Harris played the part of the FBI agent Wayne Tarrance; and the head of security and his henchman were played by Wilford Brimley and Tobin Bell respectively.
