You are a tourist and you want to see the beautiful areas of the world that is situated in Pakistan. You can not only visit the Himalaya Mountain lines but you can also see the heaven on earth that is called Kashmir.

Now I should guide you through out your way so that you can reach there easily. First of all, if you're looking for a cheaper tour then you should use train to go to the capital of Pakistan that is Islamabad. But if you can afford expenses of air travel then you can go through the Pakistan International Airlines from Karachi to Islamabad.

Now after reaching Islamabad you can not go in the areas you're looking for on train or even on airplane. Now you've to look some local buss service. And it will take you to the Murree, Abbotabad, and so on. Now these are the northern areas of Pakistan. As soon as you reached Abbotabad you can define your own route easily. It is important to know that you need some guide there who can speak your language. And it will make your tour easier and more fun. You can avail that guide from Islamabad.
I hope now you can go to the areas you are desiring for.

There are a couple of ways that you can take to go to the northern parts of Pakistan and enjoy the exotic scenery Pakistan has to offer.

If you have enough funds and are eager to spend them. Then the fastest way there is by Air. However it will most probably be that you will need to fly to the capital Islamabad and take a connecting flight. The airline that readily provides the flights is PIA (Pakistan International Airline). There are almost daily flights to places such as Skardu, Chitral etc.

Another way to make your way to northern areas is by local train. However patience and time is required for the journey. As the journey would be well over 24 hours from Karachi to Islamabad. The move ahead would have to be on your own. Most probably by a coach or vans that are privately run.

If you seem to be pondering on your options, then there is another way. To hire a car. If you have the funds to support it then have your own ride. All the way!

The best option seems to be by Air and most tourist make their way to Islamabad and then to their desired place. If the desired place cant be reached by Air. Then they usually take the help of local transport to reach their destination. For adventurers maniacs, they probably would have to sail on foot to explore the unseen beauty all on their own. It wouldn't be surprising if they do just step on the real Shangri-la.

Pakistan is a great country, rich of natural resources, fertile land, glamorous mountains and gorgeous scenery. The most striking and attractive part of the country is northern area. The northern areas belong to NWFP (North West Frontier Province). It has many delightful and picturesque areas around. It includes "Swat Valley, Kalam, Kaghan, Naran Valley, Lake Saif ul Malook, Lala Zaar, Babu Sir Top, Chitral, Kafristan, Hunza Valley" and many more on the way. If someone visits Pakistan from any other country as a tourist and lands in Karachi, there are several ways he can reach these wonderful places.

The best place from where you can get transport to go through all these areas is Rawalpindi City. You can easily get a Bus or Jeep to reach any of the above mentioned places from here. One can reach Rawalpindi by Air or by Train from Karachi. I don't recommend by Bus, even if its luxury bus, because the travel will be monotonous and bore. When you reach Rawalpindi, there are two very famous Bus Stands there, one is "Faizabad" and other is "PirWadai". Faizabad Bus Stand is in the center of the city and the approach is easy. I recommend Faizabad Stand.

Now it's up to you where you want to go from here. The route to reach "Swat Valley" is from Rawalpindi to Mardan and then Swat. From here if you travel ahead, you will find "Bahrain" and then "Kalam Valley" which is also worth-seeing place. A famous river named River Swat gives more shine to this place. But don't put your hands and feet in the water as its freezing cold. You can also travel ahead of Kalam to some Glaciers and "Lake Mountant". Please remember you will need a Jeep (4 Wheel) to reach some places in the northern areas.

One another most famous place is "Naran". You can find transportation from Faizabad to Naran through Abbotabad city, balakot city and then Kaghan on the way to Naran. Two most magnificent places to visit from Naran ahead are, "Lake Saif ul Malook" (also called Switzerland of Pakistan) and "Lala Zaar".
