Maple Ridge (British Colombia) is only about 8 miles due East of downtown Vancouver. You can get direct flights for under $500 roundtrip (see examples on Expedia). Get a taxi or rent a car once you're in Vancouver.
Not sure that price includes all taxes, surcharges, duty, whatever else they invent next.
Best bet is to sick a couple of different travel agents on it for you, and then you yourself phone up the airlines they suggest, to see if you can get a cheaper fare direct (sometimes you can). Watch out for those hidden charges, and make sure you've got appropriate travel insurance.
