Can Animals Make Casual Conversation With Each Other?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

This is true that animals can communicate with each other to convey certain messages using signs, symbols and sounds. But they are not able to produce sounds that may incorporate in chatting with each other as we human do. Animals like human can communicate through various non-verbal cues. For example, when a cat produces growling and moaning sound along with straightening of the tail and back hair in the presence of another cat, it implies that they are quarrelling and supposed to get into fighting soon. They are assumed to produce these sounds or appearances to make the opponents frightened.

Apes are considered to the most intelligent animal among all. They produce several sounds and expression to communicate their feelings of anger, hunger or happiness, but, the fact is they also do not possess the speech as humans have. Some of the animals know their language of communication by instinct such as apes.

In case of birds, it has been found that their language of communication, to some extent, is a learned behaviour. This is why if a sparrow is brought up in the environment of canaries, it may try to use its vocal in a wrong way rather than its usual pattern.
