There is a 9 Hadfield Street in the Chorlton-on-Medlock area of Greater Manchester in England. The M/C must be shorthand for Manchester. As far as I can tell searching, there is no Hadfield Street in Lynn, Massachusetts.

The answer was perfect. The question came from a family research project i am doing. My father was born in Sheffield in 1898. In the 1901 census he and his mother are listed at an address in Sheffield. His mothers sister Nora is also listed there. Fast forward to 1990's and the death of my parents. I collected all the family junk, brought it back to America, now that I am retired I am going through everything. There were some Christmas cards to my father dated 1924. Message read Happy Christmas from Nora (Grandmothers sister) address 9 Hadfield Street C on M. M/C. Now I know. She eventually came to America probably early 1930's and lived in Lynn Massachusetts. So that's my next quest. Thank you for your help.
