What Do You Know About Pervaiz Musharaf?

Pervaiz Musharaf is the current president of Pakistan. He took power in 1999 by overthrowing the Government of Mr. Nawaz Sharif. Before coming into the power he was the Army Chief of Pakistan.
On Sept 11,2001, when world trade towers were hit by the air planes and were subsequently collapsed, America declared the war against terrorism and Musharaf became one of the most trusted allies of US. It was believed that these attacks were conducted by Al-Qaida and its head Osama Bin Laden.
Being based in Afghanistan, the neighbouring country of Pakistan, US asked for the help from Mr.Musharaf for eliminating the terrorists residing inside Afghanistan. Pervaiz Musharaf being the closest ally of US offered military and intelligence support to the US in its war against terrorism and to route out terrorism from the region and capture the culprits of this horrifying crime at World Trade centres.
At the time of 9/11 incident, Taliban were in charge of the Afghanistan government but they refused to hand over Osama Bin Laden to USA.
On external front though Musharaf regime was given support because of his extensive support against war but on the internal front he is facing stiff resistance.
