A Data Processor is basically a kind of system which is used for capturing and encoding all kinds of data in a single format, which is then stored or used by another unit of the information processing system.

It is specialized because it is a component of the data processing system. It is the main part where the data processing takes place. It transforms information which is entered through data entry inside the processor. And it generates output in the form of information or data that can be used individually or is used as input by another device.
