    I believe that this is the landlords problem. The have to store it and can charge you a storage fee. Check your lease and talk to the sheriff.

      Not sure about Michigan. In Texas, we are required to hold and store things taken in a landlord lien for 30 days if the tenant has not paid the debt and reclaimed the belongings. On a writ for possession, the belongings are set on the curb for everyone to go through and scatter. Do not wait for them to set you out. Avoid it at all costs and if it comes down to it remove your most cherished belongings to a safe place before they come because they do not care about what something is worth, sentimental or otherwise.
