Why Is My Pregnant Goldfish Floating On The Bottom Of The Fish Tank?

Answer Question

4 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

For one your fish needs to not move alot, Because of the eggs.
I'm not sure what a gold fish feels when it has eggs.
But it may be in a little bit of pain because of the eggs.
I'm not sure I never been pregnant.
You can ask someone who knows what it was like when they were pregnant.

When goldfish are "pregnant" the male fish will usually poke around under the females tail and chase her around the tank. She will scatter her eggs in the water. If you do not have a male to encourage her to scatter her eggs, then she may become egg bound.
