Where Can We Go To See A Re-enactment Of The Battle Of Hastings?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The battle of Hastings re-enactment is performed every year at Battle Abbey, East Sussex, UK. It is generally held every year in the month of October mainly on the weekend near to the date 14th. It is re-enacted on the original site but the only difference is it is fought on plain ground rather than on hills.

The Event is organized by English Heritage, which owns the site; the event is attended by thousands of spectators yearly. For a long time it was an event for upcoming actors, but recently has seen professional actors take part in it. Since 1984 after a gap of five to six years Major re-enactment are held. The last one was held in 2000 and there is going to be one held in 2006. As usual it is going to be organized by The English Heritage Committee and they plan to attract a larger audience than the one held in 2000.
